Social Metadata - The SEO section on the webpages Page Settings

On this page, the below topics will be explained:

What is the Social Metadata section for in the Page Settings tab?

The Social Metadata section is optional and concerns the possibility to generate the Metadata Tags* in the HTML for SEO purposes.

What are the Metadata Tags?

The Metadata Tags* provide information about the webpage in the HTML of the document. This information is called 'Metadata' and while it is not displayed on the page itself, it can be read by search engines and web crawlers.

Search engines such as Google use Metadata from Meta Tags to understand additional information about the webpage. They can use this information for ranking purposes, to display snippets in search results, and sometimes they can just ignore meta tags.

Examples of Meta Tags include the <title> and <description> elements.
